The PAMM Berggruen exhibition will bring nearly 100 works to Pérez Art Museum Miami from October 29, 2026, through February 28, 2027, according to the Museum Berggruen’s announcement. The presentation joins European modern art with works from PAMM’s own collection.

Titled Picasso-Klee-Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen, the exhibition draws from the Berlin museum, the Berggruen family collection and PAMM. Paintings, watercolors, drawings and sculptures are part of the planned display.

Inside the PAMM Berggruen exhibition

The September 25 announcement from the Berlin museum names Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti, Paul Cézanne and Georges Braque among the artists represented. Its core is the collection assembled over more than four decades by the art dealer Heinz Berggruen.

The institution describes Berggruen’s personal relationships with artists, and his experiences of exile and migration, as important influences on the collection. That history gives the Miami presentation a subject beyond a roll call of famous names: the movement of people and ideas that helped shape modern art.

For the Miami stop, the works will appear alongside Latin American modernists in PAMM’s collection, including Diego Rivera, Joaquín Torres-García and Wifredo Lam. The museum says this combination will explore migration, cultural exchange and the historical upheavals that shaped artistic developments in Europe and the Americas.

A change of scale for the museum

According to the announcement, this is the first time PAMM has devoted its largest galleries entirely to modern art. Natalie Zimmer of the Museum Berggruen and Maritza M. Lacayo of PAMM are curating the exhibition, with support from PAMM’s Naomi Bitton.

The exhibition is another stop on the Museum Berggruen’s international tour. What makes this version specific to Miami is the pairing with PAMM’s holdings, rather than the arrival of the Berlin collection alone. Visitors can look for the connections the curators are proposing between the works instead of treating the exhibition simply as a collection of separate European masterpieces.

Plan around the opening date

The opening is still ahead as of October 9. Readers should use PAMM’s visitor information and its exhibition page to confirm tickets, opening hours and any special admission arrangements before traveling. The announced run ends February 28, 2027; it is not an exhibition already open this week.
